FogbowsA rainbow that has a white band that appears in fog, and is fringed with red on the outside and blue on the inside. These are very faint. If you reduce the video frame size the fogbow will get brighter.

Dark BeamsThese dark beams were a mystery to me. They were not crepuscular rays because the were coming from different parts of the horizon. After conferring with an atmospheric optics expert, we concluded that these were shadows of contrails and cirrus clouds that were being blown by high altitude winds. There shadows were being projected on the clouds below.

Sunsets As you watch the sun set you can observe a variety of atmospheric optics such as:
